Inauguration

Hi there, and welcome to my new blog. It is a supplement to the more personal journal I keep on another site. That one is updated periodically. This one will receive much more attention from its caretaker.

We begin, of course, with the bad news of George Bush's re-election to the Presidency in America. The day after it happened I did not go to class; it took a lot to get out of bed. But then I remembered why I joined liberal politics in the first place. It was never about a single candidate or a single election. It was about coming together with other people and sharing our stories. As we went through the long days of January obsessed with national policy and local policy, I realized how much fun it was just to talk about the state of politics and the future we all hope for. I hope we can do that here.

Liberal politics are not dead. Neither are people with real values. So don't be sad.
